Revelation 2:10 NKJV
"Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw [some] of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
The second church that Jesus is speaking to in the book of Revelation is the church of Smyrna. This particular church endured much persecution, suffering, and at times even poverty. Even though they were financially poor they were rich in spiritual blessings.
The start of the new year continued much of the same story for a lot of people. We are still going through COVID. Loved ones are getting sick and some have died. Inflation is going up which means that our money is worth less. We go to the local market or Walmart and we find empty shelves. At the same time, there is a spirit of anti-Christ in the air. Satan is working hard to blow out the light of the church.
In troubled times, Jesus encouraged the church of Smyrna. He told them not to be afraid and to remain faithful. Why? because there is a crown of life that is waiting. The suffering, the pain, and the persecutions that we go through are small in comparison to the Crown of Life we are going to receive in Heaven. CFC Church, as your pastor I encourage you to remain strong. Do not fear but have faith. We are all on the same team. Let's trust in Jesus Christ together for our future. The future is greater than our present condition.
